Spaghetti squash

 Ingredients

  •   one whole spaghetti squash
  •   Condiments of your choice to cover the pumpkin

 Preparation

1.Wash the skin and cut the pumpkin in half lengthwise, in a  cross or in 1-inch rings. If the pumpkin is too hard to cut,  microwave or bake for a few minutes until it is hot to the  touch and soft enough to cut.

2.Remove seeds and fibrous fibers with a spoon.
3.Cook the pumpkin. Pumpkin pulp should be easily pierced  when fully cooked.

how to prepare spaghetti squash
Cook in the microwave oven (shorter cooking time). Place the  pumpkin with the cut side turning down in a microwave-proof  mold with 1 to 2 tablespoons of water. Cook in ALTO for  approximately 12 minutes for a medium sized pumpkin. The  cooking time required will depend on the size of the pumpkin  and the power of the microwave oven. The pumpkin is cooked  when a fork can be inserted and the pulp separates into  strands.

Bake in the oven. Choose a temperature between 350 to 425  degrees F. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil for easier  cleaning.
 - For a "roasted" flavor, rub the sides cut with a little  vegetable oil (optional), place with the cut side turning  downwards and bake uncovered.
 - For a "steamed" texture, add ½ cup of water to the mold  and cover with aluminum foil.

Test the cooking point after 40 minutes. Larger pumpkins and  lower oven temperatures may result in longer cooking times.  The pumpkin is cooked when a fork can be inserted and the  pulp separates into strands.

4.Set aside for 10 minutes or until the pumpkin cools enough  to handle it. Use a fork to gently scrape the inside of the  pumpkin to make spaghetti-like strands ..
5.Refrigerate what is over within the next 2 hours.
